Late Bloom Farm's mission is to connect people to the land through growing food using holistic, ecological methods. We strive to be a place of refuge and a community space for people to share, honor and celebrate diversity of life. Late Bloom Farm is a 3/4 acre certified organic, no-till vegetable, herb, and flower farm located on 37 acres in Haverhill, MA. We are entering our 3rd growing season and have an 80 member CSA, attend the Haverhill Farmer’s Market on Saturdays, sell to one restaurant, and work with two local food access nonprofits.

COMPENSATION:

Starting at $17/hour

1 hour paid lunch

Workers’ compensation coverage

Vegetables from the farm

Pick-your-own herbs and flowers

SEASONAL POSITION SCHEDULE:

April through October 

Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm in Spring/Fall, 7am to 3pm in Summer

*Part Time is also available

QUALIFICATIONS: 

We seek individuals who are hardworking, live with a positive and curious mindset, able to do physical work outside in all weather and who love nature including humans! We value folks who have a desire to learn and are able to be fully engaged in the work. The Farm Crew will be trained on proper techniques and approaches to all tasks. Previous farm experience is not required, but a robust work ethic and the ability to work independently as well as a team with strong communication and listening skills are important. Reliability and punctuality is also important as this role is integral to the farm ecosystem functioning as a whole. Individuals from all cultures and communities are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks vary from week to week, but will encompass most all aspects of the farm operation. We hope to share with you the full process of growing your vegetables!

  • Harvesting in preparation for CSA, market, and wholesale accounts (everyday starting in June)

  • Transplanting

  • Bed preparation, composting and mulching

  • Occasional weeding 

  • Moving of tarps and rocks

  • Greenhouse and tunnel work, including trellising

  • Wash/pack for all distributions
